“I'm at the point in my playing where all I want out of a pickup is...honesty. That's right. The days of old, where I would try to find the highest output coil, while keeping as much note definition as possible, have come and gone. Though, I still have those guitars and they remain useful from time to time. Now, my choice in pickup is one that honestly amplifies what my fingers are doing, how the wood and the strings are reacting with one another. A pickup where you can roll off the volume and clean up the filth, in times of funk. Yet moments later, it has all the gain you need in any 'heavy' situation, while maintaining all that is paramount. Clarity, Dynamics, Feel, Response...that's why I only play DiMarzio.”
